Bryan Pharmacy History
. “We treat people like we would want to be treated, and in the same way we would want our loved ones treated. Overtime, our customers become like our family. We stress the personal touch in a day of large chain-pharmacies by developing a home-town atmosphere of caring to our customers.”
By developing this “talking relationship” with his customers, Bryan learns each patient not only in a technical sense, but in a caring and competent manner. According to Bryan, when a person’s pharmacist does not know the patient individually, there’s a real danger the person’s healthcare is compromised. People should use only one pharmacist, and that pharmacist should know the patient’s medical history as much as possible. Bryan Pharmacy stresses consultation with patients by his staff whether for over-the-counter medication or a medical prescription. Bryan Pharmacy employs four full-time technicians, one part-time delivery person, one vitamin/supplement specialist, one customer service representative and one part-time pharmacist besides Nicki & himself.
Lower prescription prices, prescription compounding, hospice expertise, natural hormone replacement therapy and acceptance of Worker’s Compensation claims for prescription medications are just some of the reasons a person would choose Bryan Pharmacy. “We take all types of medical insurance to include: Medicaid, Medicare Part D, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, all state and federal programs as well, Tri-Care, Med-Co, etc. Of particular interest, DME (Durable Medical Equipment) consisting of: breathing medication and diabetic supplies are available through Bryan Pharmacy, and they also deliver them. The pharmacy will also bill Medicare/Medicaid for the DME, as well as general billing for all patients’ healthcare insurances.
Bryan Pharmacy possesses all of the amenities of a chain pharmacy such a pill-dispensing robot by Scriptpro which automatically has the capacity to count 200 of the most frequently written pill prescriptions. Bryan emphasizes the importance of a pharmacist being “on the front line” protecting the public regarding the consumption of prescribed and over-the-counter medications. Knowing the patient through individualized knowledge of that person allows Bryan to best serve them. “Also, I’m a compounding pharmacist, certified by the Professional Compounding Centers of America. I can make medicines to meet a particular patients needs, whether it be a hospice patient needing a trans-dermal cream or sublingual substance due to an inability to swallow, or a child needing something ‘better tasting,’ I can do it.”
Bryan Pharmacy makes deliveries free of charge for prescription medications to patients in the Enterprise, New Brockton, and Elba areas. Generics are also available for most medications. At the patient’s request, Bryan Pharmacy will speak to the patient’s physician to come up with a less expensive alternative if necessary. The pharmacy is on staff for two facilities serving the elderly in this area.
Brett’s wife, Nicki, is also a pharmacist, and both are graduates of Auburn University’s School of Pharmacy. Brett worked for nine years as a pharmacist for Rite Aid/Enterprise before establishing Bryan Pharmacy in 2003; wife Nicki worked in the Troy area as a pharmacist before joining Bryan Pharmacy.
